Persons taking care of animals

This course has been designed for those people taking care of animals.

Module E1: Ethics, animal welfare and the Three Rs (level 1)

This course has been designed for those who perform Function D and is a pre-requisite for this Function which can be delivered in place of a number of other modules for anyone who will only be involved in the humane killing of animals. This module combines Learning Outcomes from the modules relating to legislation, ethics and the Three Rs with practical animal handling, safe working practices and the theory and practical elements of the humane killing modules.

Module L:: National legislation

This module provides a relevant level of understanding of the legal and regulatory framework within which projects involving animals are constructed and managed and of the legal responsibilities of the people involved, i.e. those carrying out procedures on animals; designing procedures and projects; taking care of animals; or killing animals, and may cover other relevant legislation. 

Module KD Humane methods of killing

This course has been designed for those who perform the EU Function D or Module K in the UK.  This module combines Learning Outcomes from the modules relating to legislation, ethics and the Three Rs with practical animal handling, safe working practices and the theory and practical elements of the humane killing modules.  The competency elements will be signed off by the NTCO within your organmisation.
